Codex status and usage
Codex status means two checks: whether the service is up, and how much of your plan you have used. The outage page is status.openai.com. The allowance is the Codex usage screen or /status in the CLI.

Service health: status.openai.com. If ChatGPT is green and Codex is red, the chat box will not fix the coding agent. Local failures are a different command: `codex doctor` in the CLI, which checks startup, connectivity, and performance.
Where the numbers live
- Plan limits: chatgpt.com/codex/settings/usage
- In an active CLI session: type /status for the provider’s remaining percentage and reset time
- API dollars: platform.openai.com/usage. That graph is metered tokens, not the ChatGPT plan’s Codex cap
- Enterprise, credit-based: ChatGPT Desktop → Settings → Usage & billing, for Work and Codex credits. Personal Analytics is a separate plugin on eligible workspaces and only shows aggregates when enough people are active
A weekly or monthly reset is printed on the usage page. Hitting the cap looks like a refusal, not like ChatGPT being down. Phone control of a machine that is already running Codex is Codex on iOS. Review of shell approvals is automatic review.

What does /status show?
The current Codex limit percentages and when they reset, inside the CLI. It does not show your Plus receipt.
