Deep research is the ChatGPT tool that reads across the web and returns a sourced report. People also type deepsearch. It is slower than a normal reply because it is doing several lookups.

The announcement is Introducing deep research. In ChatGPT, choose the deep research tool, or ask for a deep research report, then wait. The result includes links. Open the links before you repeat a number.
What it will not do
- It is not a database login. Paywalled papers stay paywalled
- It is not Instant. A report takes minutes
- A citation can be the wrong paragraph. The link is there so you can check
- Codex and Agent Builder do not become deep research just because they browse

No. It is the spelling people use for ChatGPT deep research.
Which plan includes it?
OpenAI gates how often you can run it by plan. The picker in your account shows the remaining runs.
