Creaticode

Creaticode is a Scratch plugin that lets a block-based project call ChatGPT. It is discussed on the OpenAI community forum. It is not a ChatGPT mode and not an official block editor.

Updated 2026-09-27

The thread is Creaticode: a Scratch plugin to enable ChatGPT for block-based coding. Install and keys are whatever that project documents. An API key for it belongs on the machine running the plugin, created in your OpenAI API account, and it will spend credit.

Scratch itself stays on Scratch. ChatGPT does not gain a stage and sprites because a plugin exists. For learning Python rather than blocks, use Python with AI. Classroom products such as SchoolAI are a different login.

Questions

Is Creaticode made by OpenAI?

It is a community Scratch plugin that uses ChatGPT. OpenAI hosts the forum thread. The plugin is not the ChatGPT app.

Does it need Plus?

If it calls the API, it needs an API key and credit. Plus is not API credit.

  • Python programming with AI

Use ChatGPT to learn Python by pasting the error and the few lines around it. Run the result locally. Do not paste secrets into the prompt.

  • OpenAI API and API keys

Create an OpenAI API key at platform.openai.com. Usage is billed apart from ChatGPT Plus. new-api is a separate open-source gateway, not the official API.

  • What is SchoolAI?

SchoolAI is a classroom AI product for teachers, separate from ChatGPT. The logo is on schoolai.com, not a file this site hosts.
