The write-ups are ChatGPT Plus is free for college students in the US and Canada through May and ChatGPT back to school offer for students. Today is 27 September 2026, which is after a May end date. Open those pages and read whether a new term is listed before you tell a bursar the plan is free.
How the offer was structured
- College students, not every .edu address in the world
- United States and Canada on the published post
- Plus for the promo window, then the account returns to Free or to a paid plan you choose
- A student discount search and a “ChatGPT Plus free” search are this offer, not a permanent coupon code
An invite trial is a different program. See ChatGPT Plus free trial. K-12 classroom tools such as SchoolAI are not this Plus promo.
